Penarth Soapbox Derby The Penarth Downhill Derby is an event held on Carnival Day each year where amateur drivers race homemade karts (Soapbox Vehicles) down the hill towards the esplanade. Each hand-made vehicle is non-motorised and relies on the force of gravity (and skill) for propulsion. Karts built for speed or fun are welcome to race against each other on the all new obstacle course.

The course has been designed to accommodate both speed and fun elements and is open to everyone.

For full details, please see the Penarth Downhill Derby web site.

Come and join in the fun at the very first soapbox challenge at Priors Marston.

There is a course for all, ranging from childrens to a more extreme course for the brave amongst you. This event is for amateur drivers with a passion for soapbox vehicles.

All vehicles are to be home made and be powered by adrenalin and courage along with a good wind!!!

There will be refreshments and food available for sale, and in the evening there will be an after party where there will be a bar, disco and pig roast until late. Tickets for this event can either be booked in advance or bought on the day.
