Catterline Carties 2009

Entries for the 2009 Catterline Cartie Challenge will be open to last year's teams on 1st January 2009. New teams will be able to enter from 1st February. Entry forms and details will be available from Catterline Online.

The maximum number of entries has been increased, so there will definately be room for some new teams. However, it is expected that the field will fill up very quickly, so you'll need to get in quick if you want to take part. Last year, all the places had gone by mid February.

Belchford Downhill Challenge, Lincolnshire

Sunday 13th September 2009
Sunday 13th September 2009

A half-mile course on a close public road with push start, 1:8 hill, chicanes and lots of other malarkey. Possible Camping and party on Saturday night. We positively encourage novice and novelty entries and will also run a class for National Rules soapboxes. Scrutineering likely to be on 30th or 31st August to give you a chance to modify if not safe to run.

Revised rules for 2009 are less restrictive, to try and get more fun into the event. Rules and entry forms will be sent to previous entrants by the middle of December, with entries being opened to all on Twelfth Night (6th January).  There has been a lot of interest from new potential entrants, so get your entry in early to avoid disappointment.

Full details on the Belchford web site.

Monymusk Carties 2009

There isn't going to be a Monymusk Cairtie Race this year (2008).  They have decided to change the date from September to mid May, and the provisional date for the next one is the 16th May 2009.

They are also considering a course of 2 sections

  • A quick steep downhill section for the driver only. This could perhaps be the start of the 2006 course.
  • A longer cross country course but including less rough, arduous pushing parts. Perhaps as 2007 course but finishing on the tarmac public road from Pitfichie castle down to the village.

Cairts would compete on either or both sections
